Ok so I just got done reading chapter 15. So basically I think what is starting to develope in the book is the court case. Also Jem and Scout are starting to see a softer side of Atticus. Scout has really been looking out for har father lately. Jem has also been keeping a close eye on Atticus. Mostly because Atticus is defending a black person. Thus he has a lot of enemies now.

Prejudice is a major issue in the world. No matter if it’s in a book or everyday life. I have witnessed some prejudice in my own life. The situation I have witnessed is people being extremely against Native Americans. I do not know why but some people can just not stand them. This is a segregation of people. Just like in the story how Atticus’s family is prejudice against black people. Always calling them Niggers. It is sad that people can just not accept one another as who they are just because of their backgrounds. I hope we can do a better job at trying to stop prejudice in the U.S..

Ok so here I am again. I just keep finding ways to get into trouble. Well scout and I have still been finding things in that tree. The latest thing that we have found was a gold pocket watch. When we first found it we thought that since it is more valuable then the other items that we had found we should not take it right away. I told scout that it might be someone’s hiding spot. So after three days of the watch just sitting there we finally decided to take it, well I did. I was starting to think that finding stuff in the tree was getting to be pretty fun. So school is dumb but what can you do you have to go. I am really happy that Dill is still here. He is like my best friend. It’s so fun having him here cause then I am not forced to just hang with Scout. She is ok sometimes but after hanging out with her day after day she can get annoying. So anyway the other day as Scout and I were walking by the tree and we went to look inside found that someone had filled it with cement. We were so shocked. We had no idea as to who would have done such a thing. Then we saw Mr. Radley go by. I could not stand it so I asked him if he did it. When he said he did because the tree was dying I got really mad because I did not believe him. So after that whole situation I figured things would go back to normal but I was wrong. I got the dumb idea to write a letter to Boo Radley and stick it to his window sill. Like usually the whole thing went bad. I lost my pants and then I chose to go back after them. I all most got shot, I woke the neighbors up, and all most got caught. Finally the last big event is that Mrs. Maudie’s house got burnt down. Oh my lord that was an event. Well I am done for now I have to get some sleep.

As of right now the Radley’s are a great mystery to just about everyone in the neighborhood. The tree house, I think, symbolizes great summertime memories. The tree with a hole in it is another thing that symbolizes mystery. Some symbols that I am not sure about are Dill’s Dad, the cooties, and the skits that Jem and Scout would act out. I am not sure what is going on with Dill’s Dad but in the story they talk about him a lot. The cooties I am also not sure about but they sure did make a big deal out of them in the story. I honestly have no idea what the skits that Jem, Scout, and Dill act out are all about.

So for this assignment the character that I want to talk about is Scout Finch. I am still only in the beginning of this novel but so far she seems pretty interesting. First I will tell you some simple things about her. Scout is six years old and she is in the first grade. She lives in an average house in Maycomb, Alabama. This is a very small town where everyone’s reputations are well known. Scout has an older brother, whose name is Jem. Jem is nine years old. Scout’s father’s name is Atticus Finch. Scout is very close with her father. The last person that Scout lives with is Calpurnia. She is the Finch’s cook. Scout used to not get along with Calpurnia but through the years that changes. So far I have noticed some of Scout’s strengths. She is very intelligent for her age. For example on her first day of school she read in front of Miss Caroline, the teacher. Being only six and the teacher twenty something this upset Miss Caroline a little. She asked Scout, “Who taught her to read and told her that she can no longer read at home.” because she thinks that Scout was taught wrong. Scout has also learned how to write, which she learned from Calpurnia. So far I think that Scout’s only down fall is that she is a very big tom boy. Scout is always hanging out with her older brother Jem and her other friend Dill. One other thing that I am thinking is that Scout will fall for Dill sometime in the future. So for this assignment the character that I want to talk about is Scout Finch.

So after reading a few peoples blogs that are out on the internet this is my conclusion. The first one that I read was a girl naming her new dog. While reading her blog I found that she is uneducated. The second one that I read was a blog about drugs on myspace. This blog was very informational. The last blog that I read was full of cute jokes. I do not think that I would blog out on the interent because I do not have a lot of free time also because I don’t know what I would talk about. I do believe that some of the blogs out there are really good and others are just endless prate about stupid things.

Wow what a topic. Yes I have written essays before. I have had a great deal of experience with them. They are kind of a pain though. Sometimes I will be in the middle of one and completely lose track of what I was writting about. They are usually worth a lot of points which is a real bummer. If you are givin a good topic then ususally you can write a lot more with out any trouble. I guess that it would be fair to say that essays are both good and bad. It is good to get writting practice. I am not fond of writting essays though.
